The daily routine
While drafting, add a source link and a brief support note beside each consequential claim. Mark paraphrases, calculations, and inferences distinctly.
Evidence to retain
The editor should be able to move from the sentence to the relevant source passage without repeating the researcher’s entire search.
Ownership and escalation
If the passage only partly supports the wording, narrow the claim or flag it. The assistant should never stretch a nearby source to close a gap.
